The Kingdom of Bhutan is a small country situated in the Himalayan Mountains, 72% of its territory being covered in forests. Bhutan is dedicated to its culture and nature preservation. As for the latter, their project “Green Bhutan” aims to promote nature conservation at the individual level and the destination is also actively engaged in tree planting initiatives which in 2015 were even featured in the Guinness World Records. This destination also seeks to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels by promoting electric cars, encouraging the rural residents to use electricity instead of fossil fuels and by developing renewable energy projects.
